Could you be the next Bake Off winner?  Maybe not but there’s still every reason to pop down to Stotfold Mill to help you try, and here’s why

Had to pop into the Mill recently and was with great delight that I stumbled across Jenny from The Mill’s Kingfisher Shop (or “Jenny from the Shop” as I like to think of her now) not only because Jenny is always ready with a lovely welcome but because she was in the middle of assembling the Stotfold Watermill Recipes booklet which I was able to sneak a quick look at.

The recipes have been provided by Mill volunteers and selected to use all the various flours, oats and bran available from the shop.  As regular visitors will know the Mill produces a quality stone ground flour using wheat grown in Bedfordshire, available in 1.5kg bags.

So just having a cheeky glance through I did very much enjoy the fact that the recipe for Cheesy Bites is illustrated with glasses of wine and I for one am keen to follow that recipe to the letter !

If like me you may not be the world’s best baker but are willing to have a go, pop along to the Mill and pick up a recipe booklet and some flour and if you’re with us on facebook why not show us the results of your endeavours, we would love to see them.

Please visit our website main page for details of shop opening hours and happy baking.
