Working Steam Weekend

5th Oct 2019 - 6th Oct 2019

A rare opportunity to see a unique collection of the steam-driven machines used for ploughing, threshing and harvesting, that revolutionised farming. These faster, more efficient methods meant that bread, the staple of life for most of the population, was more affordable. Then watch the threshed grain being ground into Stotfold Mill’s quality stone-ground flour as it has been for centuries.

As well as the agricultural and other equipment to see there will be a selection of food outlets and other traders to discover.

Don't go hungry!

High quality food that will be available over the weekend includes...

» Randall’s Tea Room:

Visit the Mill building and take time out to savour the delights of our award-winning tea room. The menu includes soup with bread rolls, delicious cakes, cream teas and Fairtrade tea and coffee, all served by our friendly team of volunteers. On display in the tea room are paintings by a group of talented local artists; many of the works are for sale.

Remember to explore the Mill to see grain being milled, buy our flour and bread, then visit the tea room and shop.
