Working Steam Weekend

5th Oct 2019 - 6th Oct 2019

A rare opportunity to see a unique collection of steam-driven machines for ploughing, threshing and harvesting that revolutionised farming. These faster, more efficient methods meant that bread, which was the staple of life for most of the population, was more affordable. Watch the threshed grain being ground into Stotfold Mill’s quality stone-ground flour as it has been for centuries.

This year Oliver’s are joining us, they have an heritage in agricultural machinery going back over 180 years. Look out for historic exhibits originally supplied by Oliver’s as well as the most recent equipment.

See the agricultural and other equipment and discover the selection of food outlets and traders.

Don't go hungry!

High quality food that will be available over the weekend includes...

» Randall’s Tea Room:

Visit the Mill building and take time out to savour the delights of our award-winning tea room. The menu includes soup with bread rolls, delicious cakes, cream teas and Fairtrade tea and coffee, all served by our friendly team of volunteers. On display in the tea room are paintings by a group of talented local artists; many of the works are for sale.

Remember to explore the Mill to see grain being milled and buy our flour and bread, then visit the tea room and shop.

Open Dates & Times

Stotfold Watermill is a great day out for all the family and is open to the public on various dates throughout the year. The Nature Reserve which adjoins the Mill is open all year round.

Shop At The Mill

The Kingfisher Gift Shop stocks a selection of gift items suitable for all ages. It specialises in our own high quality stone-ground flour, which is recommended for making bread.
