“They’ll Never Do It!” – Rebuilding Stotfold Mill
15th Sep 2019
A special exhibition telling the story of how the Mill came to be re-built, featuring many photos from the time.
It’s a wonderful example of how local people came together, contributing skills and sheer hard work; with a local building company undertaking the unique and challenging construction.
Sam Randall – last of the milling family – would visit the site and say to himself “They reckon they’ll get it going. They never will!”. On the day in 2006 when flour was finally produced by the rebuilt Mill, he told people “I went to bed a happy man that night!”
The exhibition is part of Heritage Open Days 2019, “People Power”.
