Pottery Workshop

8th Aug 2020

Pottery Workshop with Eve Carroll

This workshop is for anyone who would like to explore working with clay and produce a piece of work using hand building and modelling methods. Individual guidance will be given through the various making processes, demonstrating techniques, such as coiling and slab building. Added to this, there will be a pottery wheel available during the session, for participants to have a go at throwing a pot. Once your clay pieces have been made, you will spend the last part of the day’s session decorating and designing your work by using coloured slips and stains.  At the end of the session, the pots will be taken away by Eve to be kiln fired and glazed returned to you 3 weeks later.  Pottery can be relaxing and therapeutic, as well as hugely enjoyable.  Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available, but please bring a packed lunch.

Eve Carroll

Eve has been producing works in clay for the last 30 years. She completed a BA Honours Degree in Ceramic design in 1991 at Camberwell school of Art London.  Further education and employment lead her down the road of wanting to bring art to a wider audience. Eve trained in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University in 1998. She continued to facilitate art and pottery in schools, colleges and community groups. Since moving to Bedfordshire in 2008, Eve continues to produce ceramic work in her studio at home in Cople.
