
Don’t forget the Summer Art Exhibition taking place this Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June at Stotfold Mill. Here’s a sneak preview of just some of the fantastic works on display and a little about some of the artists. Just enough to whet the appetite so make sure to come along this weekend and take a good look for yourself.
John David Leather
John lives in St. Neots, Cambs and Bury St Edmonds Suffolk.
Painting mainly in oils he specialises in still-life subjects that visually jump out of the frame. His work has been sold in the UK, Australia, USA, Norway and Ireland.
David Wells
David is an international award-winning artist who paints mainly in watercolour. He particularly likes to paint people, animals and buildings. His paintings are held in commercial and private collections worldwide.
Dylis Rowlands
Living in Luton Dilys is a very well-known local artist.
Watercolour is her preferred medium, but she also paints in oils, pastels and coloured pencils.
Dominique Shipster
Specialising in print work Dominique is influenced by the entertainment world and her travels abroad. She has exhibited extensively in the Home Counties and Cornwall.
John Devitt
Painting mainly in pen and wash John’s style can be a very loose and at other times quirky almost cartoon-like. Having recently turned professional his work is sold worldwide.
Mark Mannering
Mark lives in Stotfold and came late to painting. Deciding not to waste a talent and love of drawing he has become a full time artist. Working mainly in charcoal and graphite, he has recently started to dabble in watercolour.
Sue Wookey
Sue mainly working in watercolour, she creates glowing paintings, framed by a border of words, these are often fragments of poems written by the artist, and inspired by the painting. She is a member of the Eagle Gallery Co-operative in Bedford.
