Bank Holidays are made for this……..Stotfold Nature Reserve is just Glorious
Well phew what a scorcher this Bank Holiday has turned out to be! Far too hot to do much at all really but certainly far too hot to travel far and wide.
And then it hit me, how lucky are we to have a beautiful oasis of calm right on our doorstep so took the opportunity to have a wander up the road to Stotfold Nature Reserve. Bank Holiday Sunday late afternoon and minus doggo (it really is just way too hot for Mr Dudley and photographic evidence will show that he really didn’t mind at all !!) set off for a meander about.
And yet again was not disappointed. The swans are still looking after their cygnets and finding nice, shady spots to take a dip. Autumn is just starting to creep in with blackberries on the bushes and the trees just starting to show a golden glow.
I’m no David Bailey but even I couldn’t resist taking some photos of this beautiful spot in the heart of the Bedfordshire countryside.
The school summer holidays may be nearing an end but there’s still time for me to take the grandkids on a walk round the reserve to find the “Gnomes beards” hung out to dry all around the meadows, hope to see you there.
