SEEING STARS AT STOTFOLD MILL!
I
’m delighted to be able to tell you that following a recent inspection our popular Tea Room, Randall’s, has once again been awarded a four star rating! This is a magnificent reflection on all the hard work, professionalism and pride taken in Randall’s Tea Room by its manager Julia Barrow and her Tea Room Team.As a regular visitor to the Tea Room myself I can only say that the four stars are extremely well deserved! In this day and age where life is lived at an ever quickening pace and every high street seems to contain exactly the same set of heavily branded shops, bars and cafés it is so nice to laze in the peaceful old world charm and atmosphere of Randal’s Tea Room for a while with a cup of fresh Tea or Coffee, a bowl of soup, a chunk of crusty bread and a slice of delicious cake.
Randall’s Tea Room is open every other Sunday along with the Kingfisher Gift Shop as well as the Mill itself so why not come along one Sunday for a cuppa and a tour of the Mill.
Festival Jumble Sale Raises Funds for Mill
O
nce again a big thank you to Christine Webster and her team of helpers for their sterling efforts at this year’s Festival Jumble Sale, which was held in aid of Stotfold Mill. Thanks to their efforts just short of £300 was raised towards our continued work at the Mill.A BIT OF FORWARD PLANNING
W
ith our main event of the year behind us there is still plenty of organising to do at the Mill with our October and Christmas events to be planned, not to mention starting to plan for 2009’s Steam Fair and Country Show! The October event is of course a much smaller and low key affair than the May Weekend but nether the less there is still a lot to organise. This year as well as a threshing demonstration we will have heavy horses and a sawing machine (no, not a sowing machine, but a steam powered sawing machine) and a clay shoot on the Sunday. Also in October will be the bi-annual Mill Ball. Please do not enquire yet about tickets for this hugely popular event, as we are not yet ready to take bookings!
For your diary the dates are as follows: Mill Ball October 4th, Threshing Weekend October 11th and 12th.
