Music Throughout the Weekend!

Throughout the weekend there will be a whole host of bands and singers performing in the beer marquee. So take some time out and enjoy a sit-down, a drink and listen to some fantastic music.

Saturday Afternoon

» 12.00-12.20 / Samuel Whitbread Rock Band

Are made up of students from Samuel Whitbread Academy. The band formed last year as a platform for talented performers to improve their playing skills. The line-up changes each year. Rock Band are a fun and vibrant band who are student led and explore a variety of different songs.

» 12.25-12.45 / Abacus

A duo that performs American roots and English folk music with banjos and guitars.

» 1.00-1.30 / Arfur Shandy

Nigel, aka Arfur Shandy, a 40 something local lad influenced by many different artists, from Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, stretching to artists as diverse as Toto and Otis Reading. Playing acoustically, with a little bit of electronic gadgetry and hopefully there’s something in his set to get everyone’s feet tapping, young and not so old.

» 1.45-2.30 / Dakota Smile

A 5-piece band playing a variety of covers from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and more. Fronted by the vocal powerhouse that is Sammy B, we aim to get everyone on their feet and dancing to classics ranging from the rock’n’roll greats, the beat era of the Sixties, classic rock from the seventies, brit-pop from the nineties and much, much more.

» 2.45-3.45 / Becky Phillips

Is one of the country’s top performers, playing at over 400 events during 2016. Singing popular songs and some originals, she knows how to engage a crowd.

A great band who will entertain you with foot tapping covers, a wild performance and rock on!

Sunday Afternoon

» 11.10-11.30 / Abacus

A duo that performs American roots and English folk music with banjos and guitars.

» 11.45-12.15 / Luke Murphy-Wearmouth

A singer-songwriter from Stotfold via Sydney, Australia. He is one quarter of pop-rock band Brutaligators and one third of indie-DJs and promoters Early Doors Disco. He is much cooler on the internet.

» 12.30-1.15 / Henlow Hurricanes

Playing an eclectic mix of 60’s to current tracks like The Who, The Jam, The Small Faces The Buzzcocks and The Specials.

» 1.30-2.45 / Planet X

A Female-fronted, 4-piece band playing a wide spectrum of popular rock covers 70s to now including Queen, Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley, Free, Cranberries and  David Bowie.

» 3.00-4.00 / Beth Hedges

Is a 19 year old singer/songwriter, who has been performing in and around Hertfordshire for 2 years. Beth is passionate about performing, regularly attending open mic nights and taking any chance she can to perform, some of her previous performances include The Musical Mystery Tour at Hertford House Hotel, The University of Hertfordshire’s summer ball on the Hookah Stage and Hat Fest music festival in Hatfield Heath; in late 2015 Beth also made it to the semi-finals of Open Mic UK music competition, with her original material. Beth is currently writing her first EP but has not yet confirmed a release date.

Solo acoustic guitarist & vocalist, Kevin Clynes, plays classic & varied cover versions from the 50’s to present day! A gigging musician for many years, playing in both original & cover bands, including the successful tribute band Squeezed. Kevin has now established himself as a successful solo artist in his own right.
