Summer Music Evening – The Charlie Pyne Trio
Charlie Pyne is a jazz double bassist and singer and is in high demand on the London jazz circuit. She recently played at Southbank Centre with Yazz Ahmed’s ‘Polyhymnia’, at Pizza Express Jazz Club and is a regular at The Ivy Club. She also runs Camden Light Orchestra, a 60 piece amateur band in North London.
Tom Kenworthy is a guitarist from London with 14 years playing and touring experience. He currently plays and records with a variety of musicians including the Charlie Pyne quartet/trio, Selectric, CFT and Agata Kubiak. Tom recently completed a national tour with Selectric, an original jazz/math-rock/noisecore band, and still hasn’t quite recovered. He loves jazz, classical, improvised music, extreme metal and ‘traditional’ music from around the world. Tom is a fan of ale and all things maths. His favourite song is Beyond The Blue Horizon by Lou Christie, but he doesn’t know why.
Luke Pinkstone is a London-based saxophonist, doubling on clarinet and flute. His versatility sees him regularly playing live gigs, recording sessions and theatre shows across the UK. Recent live credits include Molotov Jukebox, Hackney Colliery Band and Bambus City Strut.
Luke has played many of London’s top venues include Vortex Jazz Club, Spice of Life, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The Barbican, Alexandra Palace and also played on BBC Radio 2. He currently leads the Hillingdon Jazz Orchestra and Youth Big Band, and co-runs Camden Light Orchestra.
